Barkhan Dunes EP

A 3 track downtempo ep (23m 22s) — released June 7th 2019 on Palms & Charms

Fresh from the Tokyo studio of Balearic wizard Max Essa, comes Barkhan Dunes EP; a collection of exquisite, chilled-out loveliness.

Opening track The Price You Pay (For Loving That Way) warns of the dangers of careless love affairs. A veritable beach-disco classic in the making; warm, expressive synth rhythms and beautiful clean guitar lines provide an irresistible urge to climb on deck and let your body move.

Next up, Kites at Nemoto Beach caresses your soul with blissful shimmering guitar and synths, before some David Axelrod-esque choral vocals carry you across the oceans to a new place.

Finally, Sundowning is a sublime slice of low-slung, poolside AOR. As the golden-red sun slides towards the horizon, a bittersweet dubby guitar refrain hints at past troubles, but also carries you forward to an optimistic future.

Lovely stuff from a great producer... Digging the Balearic Disco vibes on Price you pay. And there's a heavy dose of the 'Wally Reas' about Sundowning. Top gear. - Dicky Trisco

Sundowning is very nice!!! Had to listen seven times in a row! - Marco Gallerani Hell Yeah!/Balearic Gabba

Loving 'The Price You Pay'. Perfect...will play this weekend. Liking 'Kites at Nemoto Beach' as well! - Simon Lee Faze Action

Sundowning works really well with all the Dreampop stuff I've been getting into. 'The Price You Pay' will be good for Friday / Saturday nights. - David Pickering One Million Sunsets

Been listening a couple times and fall in deeper every time... Especially track 1 'The Price You Pay' is a balearic monster... Musicality when you're at your best imo... Love track 2 a lot as well.... cinematic and very visual tune to float by... Full support, will be a strong tool in my sets this summer.... - Mike Salta Music for Dreams/Karma Carumba radio show

Such great tunes! I played two cuts from the EP on my last Strange Days show. - Adam Warped Strange Days
